... get Ofsted's permission for this?

It occurs between nursery pick-ups, as I have an enquiry to pick up at 11.45 from one nursery and I need to drop off one mindee at 12pm. So would be over my numbers between 11.45 and 12pm once a week.

Yes because what happens if no2 child's nursery is closed when you get there.......

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2009 13:27

yes

what happens if you needed to pick up child from nursery if ill (or do cm's not do that, as a nanny would) or if they have a baker day etc

would parents have to collect ill child?

ofsted seem so picky, that if they found out, you may be fined (if they do that)or lose your license

Definately, what if during those 15 minutes one of the children hurt themselves, you are not covered by insurance, I understand its "only" 15 minutes, but for peace of mind its definately worth it.

OFSTED have always been pretty good in doing variations for me allow me to overlap (I have had a constant stream on siblings) and they allow it under continuity of care, and the fact we live a rural area with very few alternative childcare options.

JenniPenni · 18/03/2009 13:35

Yes, you need a variation from OFSTED for ANY overlap.

squirrel42 · 18/03/2009 18:31

A variation shouldn't be a problem for something like that - put the request in writing to Ofsted (along with the details of the children you would have at that time, their ages, etc) and you should hopefully get permission to have the extra child that day added to your certificate.

Thanks all. I will write to Ofsted.
