CM CLUB- What is your policy on D&V?

My policy is currently 24hrs exclusion but I went on food hygiene course last night and was told it should be 48 hrs. Should I change my policy and risk upsetting the parents?
Is this a legal requirement?

I do 48 hours (which is why I'm on 2 days unpaid at the moment, because I was ill Monday night).

I use the health protection agency guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings and attach it to my sickness policy. It currently states 48 hours from last episode of d&v.

The Health Protection Agency advises 48 hours away from school/childcare, but this is guidance and not a legal requirement.

You can get a free poster from HPA 08701 555 455 (check if alternative number on www.saynoto0870.com) to show your parents, if you want to change. I have 48 hour policy, I think its sensible to follow the official guidelines even though its not a legal requirement.

If the cm is ill, I think its a legal requirement that we have 48 hours clear before preparing meals. But that may be just guidance as well, don't have source to hand.

I use 48 hours exclusion... cannot take the risk and need to think of other kids in my care, plus if I get sick, there is no care for anyone...

i do 48 hours too - parents hate it but tough - thats the current health advice so thats what I do
