trampoline advice

I am considering getting a small trampoline (8ft) and wondered if other cm had them and their experience in relaton to safety etc. Also, can it stand on hard ground or does it need to be on grass or anything? Also how far away from the walls should it be? (using with enclosure)

i have had one for 6 years in fact we are on our second one, the kids love it.

we did tho sink it into the ground a bit, so that it was level (which our garden wasn't) this stopped it moving at all, especially in high winds.

we situated it away from the fence by about two feet.

a i said w have had two trampolines, one a blue one that the netting attached by elastic straps which was good, but i did have to replace the straps, and the kids could get out from under the netting, this is our new one and far superior.

OFSTED said "only with a net & for children over 10"

My trampoline has a label on it saying only suitable for children aged over 6. I only allow younger children on it when they are with their parents and are no longer my responsibility. I have detailed all this in my policies and risk assessment. Ofsted have never commented.

KatyMac - ofsted seem to be really harsh on you

i don't have one but a friend does. She has a written permission slip for children to use it, and one child has even broken their ankle on it - but Ofsted never commented that it wasn't suitable......

If you get one make sure you get written permission from parents for kids to use it

personally I wouldn't want to risk it....but if you think you can manage one then go for it - just cover your back

I don't think they like me

I am a trouble maker - remember when I was on the BBC news last year & I like everything in writing

lol KatyMac, maybe you should give up the job to be a politician oh and I was up at the same time as you this morning (ridiculous early posts )

Insomnia - stress related I guess

I am so tired

Maybe I should go round interfering telling people what to do - do you think I'd get a job doing that?

thebody · 18/03/2009 17:31

Think thats ridiculous KATYMAC. I have a huge trsampoline with a net and let the 2year olds jump to their hearts content, but only one at a time. its great exersise and the parents dont mind.

For Gods sake so many kids are overweight now, I would argue that one with Ofsted personally. where oh where has all the sense gone....

I have no children above 4......so it isn't really an issue

But I have a policy
