Hi,

Is anyone else having problems with payment company's especially Busy Bee's ?

My payments are due on the first but not getting into my account till mid month?

It's really frustrating as I know have four parents paying me this way and none of the payments are going through when there supposed too!

I had problems too and emailed them. They said they have had problems and payments would be late. My vouchers were taking 2 weeks to be processed. All gone through as of today though. But yes, the last few weeks have been taking longer.

i have had probs, its the first month i have used them and money was due 2nd and i'm still waiting!

If you have a late payment fee written into your contract, ask your parents to send the bill to Busy Bees as its their fault. They're 8 days late again with mine so will be getting another bill.

Last time (13 days late!) I told them I would refuse to accept their vouchers if they can't pay me on time. They were very apologetic but apologies don't put food on the table or petrol in the car. Trouble is, I don't feel able to carry out my threat because of the impact to parents. As long as they keep paying my late fees, shall have to put up with it I suppose.

Its a shame parents don't have any choice about which voucher provider they use and are stuck with whichever provider their employer has linked up with.

busy bees are a nightmare for their payment schedule. I'm a parent, they take it out of my salary on 22nd of the month, and the email only ever arrives on the 4th-5th, and to the nursery five days after that (if they are lucky) It has been like this for the year and a half that we have been using them. We only continue because the nursery says it's ok and they save me a fortune.

what should I charge parents for late payment , ayla99 that's a good idea

I know the question wasn't aimed at me but basically I've arranged with nursery that they hold a week worth of payment in credit - which I'll hopefully get back when DD leaves That way they're technically not out of pocket when BB's are late paying them.

gigglewitch · 10/03/2009 12:37

P.S. and neither am i in paying what would in effect be an interest charge....

I do appreciate that a childminders circumstance is vastly different from a nursery's, but the suggestion may be worth considering.

Accor Vouchers are very good if anyone can be persuaded to swap!

Shoshe · 10/03/2009 13:21

I have had late payment from accor at Christmas time, and Sodexo can be a nightmare, I now take vouchers if parents keep a months back in hand,

ie, they release January's vouchers on the 20th of January to pay Feb bill, I know that that means the first month with me, they pay the whole bill cash and have voucher money taken out of their salaries.

It is the only way I take them, I need to be paid on the 1st, or my mortgage doesn't get paid.

callmeovercautious · 10/03/2009 13:26

Unfortunately BB will only send out paper vouchers or the e vouchers once their payment from the Company has cleared.

I spoke to our accounts department at work and they now run the voucher payments mid month rather than end of month with payroll. This means I always get my voucher in plenty of time to pay the Nursery and they have time to make sure it clears by the 1st of the month.

Try asking the Parents to talk to payroll.

I've had probs with BB this month - always get money directly into bank round about 2nd of month, didn't go in till today! Had to beg steal and borrow from family to put enough money in bank to cover direct debits that were coming out. Another job is looking good when ds goes into ft school in Sept!!

Moral of the story? Always ask for cm fees in advance - I will be in future!

BB are crappola

Send them simple, numbered instructions via email.
Do so twice a week, for 5 weeks.
Give them 3 weeks to locate paperwork.
Do not believe BB emails that state they have set up your payment instructions until you see the evidence with your own eyes via own bank account.
Take a note of the name of the efficient one who works there. Make sure it's her you contact directly next time.
