A 1 year old and a 3 year old, 3 year old is in nursery 5 mornings a week and 1 year old 2 mornings so she would have the baby for 3 mornings on his own and then weekends there would be 2 and in the school holidays then she would have both.

£7p/h sounds about right.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2009 10:15

i would have thought £5 per hr tops

assume she is 18/21 if at uni?

there are qualified and nannies with 10years+ i know who earn £7

MuffinToptheMule · 10/03/2009 10:29

You can work in so many other (easier) jobs for £5. I do a similar job for £5.50 but if I were to work for another family I would charge £6.50

lindseyfox · 10/03/2009 13:09

I too would have set £5-£6 an gross tops as she is unqualified childcare maybe with some prev babysitting experience.

FlorenceofArabia · 10/03/2009 20:51

Yes but she could earn more than £5 working in a shop or Starbucks.

willowthewispa · 10/03/2009 20:55

A 1 and a 3 year old are hard work, and a lot of responsibility. I would pay £6 at least.

Was thinking £6, we work from home so we will be around, it is just easier to clean rooms, change beds and iron and do paperwork without children under your feet. Plus a donation to petrol each week.
