Hope it is ok to post this here. I live in Perthshire and would like to organise a cleaner. I have no idea how much an hour is reasonable? any advice appreciated. I am mum of two suffering with Pelvic Girdle Pain after last pregnancy.

Don't know about your part of the world, but I pay my cleaner here in the SW £7 an hour.

I usually recruit through ad in local newsagent.

You can also go through an agency, but it will cost more.

I am in woking and my cleaner charges £8 an hour. last one was £10 an hour.

try your local shopping centre boards. or try Netmums. my current and previous cleaners were both through netmums.

I use an agency and pay £30 for one hour for that I get two or three cleaners who follow a job sheet which is an agreed list of jobs to complete, the list is flexible and can change as often as required.

Hi, Angel! Woking is such a small community in many ways that we probably see each other out and about!!

I also used an agency at one time but clearly I was being robbed: £49 for one hour, two cleaners.

I have a job sheet for my cleaner..... but have yet to summon up the courage to give it to her!! I drew it up because the previous cleaner did not do a good enough job and I made the fatal mistake of saying "You can leave when you are done even if you have not needed the full 2 hours". Less and less seemed to be done each week.

So, Eliza1, for what it is worth, my best advice is start as you mean to go on!
