I'm thinking about it, so I'll be interested in any responses to this too.

I don't see how you could fit it all in tbh, will be interested so see if anyone thinks it's possible.

What age are the mindees and how many? I'm sure there are home edders who do it with a couple of younger siblings in the house, so pretty similar setup, I would have thought.

i only do part time cm ,i have one 2yr old and one three yr old this would only be temporary as looking for new school

I wouldn't see it as too much of a problem, as coulf fit in if/when they nap and if they don't nap catch up at weekends etc

bigdonna · 11/02/2009 20:23

they both nap in afternoon and dont arrive until 9.30/10.30am and leave by3pm so could fit in easily.

I did it temporarily while deciding on right school for DS1. It worked beautifully as they were all following the EYFS together...past reception age might prove trickier - and I was surprised but one of my parents was quite annoyed about me doing it at first - I think she wondered how my priorities would be I guess.

If you do it temp while lookgin for new school - make sure parents realise its just temporary and reassure them you won't be changing your level of care for their mindees...some parents worry thats all

bigdonna · 11/02/2009 22:33

already talked to parents they think its a brilliant idea as the mindees love my son being here

Hi there, yes my 9 yr old dd has a hearing problem and learns much better from home and I find childminding fits in well, they still mix with other children and the mindees love learning along with my dd, at the mo we have been doing a project on the human body and my mums love hearing their 3/4 year olds talking about their oesophagus and stomach and feel their kids will have a head start when starting school, I do however find it hard getting the kids in in the first place because alot of people think you're a wierdo for wanting to school your kids from home and avoid you like the plague.
