I had an enquiry to look after a little girl for a total of 5.5 hours per week over 3 days. When I worked out the hourly rate of £5 it really doesn't seem worth my while doing after school care term time only. BUT I don't have any mindees at the moment...
What would you charge?

If I were you I would take it. At least it will break you in gently and you will be seen out and about and hopefully drum up some new business.

I would take it, because you may meet people at the school who see you minding and ask you to look after their children in the holidays.

Only ... if filling up your car with school children means you do not have space in the car for little ones, then you may have a problem later on.

Thanks for your replies...another thing to consider is the car space. I would only be able to have one other child in the car if I took her on....ahhhh this is harder than it seems!

Will keep looking I think! Thanks!

could you charge 1/2 fees for the school holidays as if she used a nursery they would charge all year round whether she went or not.

or maybe charge more per hour as under 10hrs of care.
