Can i deduct anything for internet, tv and phone? all from one supplier. have got gas, leccy, water and council tax but wondered about telephone?

doing it tonight so asap if you can! thanks in advacne

Yes, you can. I think it is 20% but i am not sure of the amount. If you have worked it out to the minute what internet time, tv time and phone calls were for business purposes, then of course it would be easy!!!!

There is no set amount, you need to make a judgement as to the proportion of usage for business purposes.

A childminder who has 3 of her own children and a hubby using broadband and phone as well as her own personal use might only be able to justify 20% or less. If everyone in the family uses their own mobile phone and the home phone is more heavily used for business purposes or you might be entitled to 80% or more. You can only claim 100% if there is no personal usage at all - ie, separate line for business use.

I put through 50% of broadband, home phone, and dvd rental.

excellent! Have just finished my tax return and they owe me money! woohoo! Very silly bits on the form made me cross but all done now! yay!
