Long story short..... I took a job through an agency I have been a nanny 14 yrs and know the agency well, the family needed a fixed term cover for 6 months and this is what is stated in the contrect. BUT the job was offered as full time as they didn't want to have the old nanny back. Myself and the mum had several chats about how she was going to make sure the old nanny didnt come back blah blah blah.

Tonight she tells me to leave in 6 weeks as this old nanny is in fact coming back and when I stated our original terms she called me a liar.

I'm fuming the agency is fuming and I'm seeking legal advise.

has anyone else been in this situation??????

So in the contract it says 6 months in the contract - do you have anthing in writing about it becoming full time? I should think you're feeling lucky to be out of there - of she can do that plus the conversations about how she would make sure the nanny didn't come back.

This is really bad..what agency is it?

Did the contract say permanent or temporary to cover maternity leave?

In any case, is this really employer in whom you can trust. If you few options really, as with less than one year's service you haven't any legal rights.

unless you chnaged contract from temp/covering ml to perm there isnt much you can do

did the mum talk to the ganecy and pay a perm fee for you?

tbh you are better off out from there - mb sounds awful - feel sorry for the orignal nanny to have a mb who tried to get rid of her and then wants her back again
