Hi KM good luck! Are they coming today or are you not sure? You will be fine I'm sure.

My hyper-destructive mindee has just turned up finishing his breakfast off . . . a big slab of white bread sandwhich filled with lashings of chocolate spread.

KatyMac · 16/01/2009 09:55

Not sure

Good luck Katy!

Sammy - lol, poor you. Hey, it's nuts too right??

After schoolie today, until late tonight which I am bit nervous about. My baby and 3 yo have bedtime about then and it will be nasty moods all around no doubt!

SammyK · 16/01/2009 10:38

No nut nutella kind, just chocolately kind. Sigh. He is running around shouting and kicking everything in sight. Soggy trip to the park I think until the sugar high is burnt off!

Eek KM, they left me to sweat over the weekend, hope they come to you today.

How do you deal with 'evaluation' bit on the self assessment?

I am hiding in here - mindee is a lot of work on a Friday - and so is my dd. help!

mumlove · 16/01/2009 17:05

Evening evryone.

I am so glad the weekend is here, 2 days of 6.30 starts and I am shattered.
I haven't even started my sef yet. I have looked at it but wasn't in the correct mood to start it!!

Good luck Katy.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

A bit late for some advice but... my 5 yo mindee is giving his parents a bit of trouble at home time. I.e. not putting his shoes on when asked, etc. Though asking when mummy/daddy is coming before they arrive! I've tried to have him ready but they don't always arrive at the same time, and the schedule is a bit as and a when. So I can't always anticipate them..

How do I help them? I want to seem all knowing (kidding) when I give them suggestions to alleviate the situation but to be honest, it's never happened! All mine have been little ones before now. Any ideas?

SammyK · 16/01/2009 21:00

I would just take charge of the situation, I have a four year old does this (a little younger I know), I either put shoes in advance (if clean and dry), or before I answer the door when they knock, then put their arms in their coats while they are talking to their parent.

Handover time is always when they play up. I make sure we adults back each other up, and are united in what we expect from the children at handover time.

leonifay · 17/01/2009 09:39

i have a parent who collects their child any time between 5 and 6, they call or text when they leave work, as i know they will be 10-15 minutes i can get her to tidy up and have her socks and shoes on by the time her parents arrive.
ask the parents to drop you a text when they are on their way. it really helps
