Could anyone help me, I have a new assistant who wants a contract and I have been on internet and cant find one. Doeas anyone one else have an assistant who you have a contract for? If so could you let me no what it entails. Also if you are allowed to let assistants go on the school run with children while registered childminders go to a different school.
I hope someone can help me!!

Can't help you on the contract front but I work as an assistant and I do a school run and the CM does a different school run. She just had her parents sign a permission slip saying it was ok to do this, also for DC to go in my car and be left in my sole charge as and when.

Thank you very much for your reply that has made me feel better about one thing anyway. Did you stay cm leaves you in sole charge with children? Would I be able to do my sons pre school duty and leave asistant with 3 children? Do you no if you have to have it stated on your registration certificate? Sorry i am asking you to many questins. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure to be honest I think it's something you have to agree with the parents? I some times take 3 bigger ones to the park while the CM stays home with a 2 sleeping babies. Also CM might do school run while I stay home with 3 children.

I think so long as you stay within numbers (ie. Assistant only ever has 3 under 5 etc) it is ok, but I am just assuming this you would need to check to be honest.

I have my own liability insurance and am first aid trained and registered as a nanny with ofsted. So might explain why parents (have met everyone of her parents) are happy for this to happen. Maybe if your assistant did not have these things parents might be less happy? It all depends on the parents and the ability of the assistant I suppose. But again you'd need to double check what I am saying somewhere official.

Yes, you can leave them as long as they are registered with ofsted and they ok it. You also need parents permission. It will go on your certificate. My DH is my assistant and he can be left "for short periods of time" with the children

My DH is my assistant and I can live him with minded children or sometimes helps me with school runs. it is stated on my certificacate that I work with an assistant for a short period of time. When I had my inspection I asked how long is a short period of time and was not given an answer on that. She as long as parents agree with you the period of time no problem but cannot be a full day.

What I do is that I let my parents no whenever my DH is going to help me out so that if anything happens that particular day they no about it. they hav all signed permission slips found on bromley. hope that helps.
