CM Club: how much does it cost you to feed your mindees?

Just figuring out some costs projections for the CM I work with; she needs to save some money and this seems like the easiest place to cut back. So I offered to ask you lovely ladies how much you all spend?

We normally have 6 under 4 years and they have a hot meal for lunch. Then sarnies in the evening for about 13 (I think).

So how much does it cost you? TIA x

I charge for all meals. They usually provide their own once I tell them that!

Shoshe · 29/12/2008 14:24

I put all my meal costs against my expenses, so they dont cost anything?

nbee84 · 29/12/2008 14:35

Well, they do still cost you - you just save 20% of the total cost by not paying tax on them. So if lunches cost £10 per week, they have still cost £10 per week but by putting them on your expenses you are not paying £2 of tax.

I charge a standard against my expenses of

£1.50 per breakfast
£0.75 per snack
£3.00 per cooked meal, be that lunch or tea or both.

If I didnt put it all on my expenses, with everything else I cam claim, I would pay tax, as it is I have only paid tax once in the last 10 years.

I would rather feed my mindees well than pay the tax man.

Lol shoshe I read that as:

'...than pay the tax, man.' In some hippy like voice.

Shoshe · 29/12/2008 14:57

PMSL an aging hippy, although I wasn't ever a hippy, was a punk tho, back in the day

Now a quite conservative granny

If you want to make savings, buy cheaper ingredients and batch cook and freeze it.
