and worked three days a week as a nanny for one of them how much i could earn do you think?
I would be happy to do housework too but would still need to do school run for my own dd. I know they'd be happy with that though. Have warned them I'm not happy with cming at the mo and wondering what to do with my life in general so they are expecting this conversation i think! just wanted some guidance on how much to ask for if i do it! TIA

but how would that be any different than childminding, apart from being in someone else's house?

SleighGirl · 15/12/2008 09:08

no paperwork

southernbelle77 · 15/12/2008 09:09

Because there would be no paperwork involved I imagine!

SleighGirl · 15/12/2008 09:09

you are employed rather than being self employed too

Your house doesn't resemble a toy & baby store 5 days per week

there are advantages to being a nanny.

SammyK · 15/12/2008 09:10

yep no paperwork, home is your own, no blurred lines between family time and work time, employed instead of self employed

not sure about earnings EM but sounds like a good option

for all those reasons yes and am currently working from 7am till 5every day which is affecting my relationship with dd in the mornings. she starts full time in jan at school and i was only ever cming till she was full time really. I had miscarriage this year which has really affected me more than i ever thought it would. i need some time to myself which by working three days would be possible!

just need to know income!

look on your local gumtree, ring some nanny agencies and ask the going rate etc

nannynick · 15/12/2008 12:09

You need to look at nanny job listings sites to get a feel for salaries in your area.

I would have thought that you could expect to earn anywhere from £70 to £120 a day, depending on location, hours, experience, etc.

nick, i'm not far from you, bracknell. but would be working in wokingham excpet for school pick up.

do you know of any agencies local to us?

Parents who use agencies seem to use various agencies around Berkshire/Surrey/Hampshire.
Probably best to search for jobs at NannyJob to see which agencies are listing jobs in the Bracknell/Wokingham/Reading area.

Some agencies listing jobs in the area currently are: Little Angels, in Reading
Smilies in Maidenhead, Lollipop in Windsor (I've used this one in the past), Coralis in Reading, Coconuts in Fleet, Tigerlilly (Berkshire) in Windsor.

I am in the area and getting about £65 (gross!!) a day with my own dd - I was a teacher but had no nanny experience, so i know this is quite low... was planning on getting some experience and then doing less hours for same money... problem I have now is I love the family!!!
