Been childminding a few years and finally decided to give up - and I have to say I'm glad I've made the decision to stop!
There will be loads I miss, especially my beautiful children. But I wont miss the paper work and the constant clearing up!!!

I had children come and go and the paper work involved was crazy! - way too much!!!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Well done for making the decision - deciding to do something like this is a hard decision to make.

What is your new job - anything child related, or something completely different?

I am in a similar situation happybappy, it's such a big decsion isn't it?! Likeyou I will miss my mindees but the list of things I won't miss far out weighs that sadly so I am looking for pastures new too.

Yes - working with children in mainstream schools that have complex needs! Very interesting job!
Its also term-time, so i have time with my own kids in the holidays!
But I wont ever knock childminding. i have gained so much expereince and would never have got the job without the knowledge and understanding of different kids!

I would say if a opportunity arises - you must go for it!

That sounds great, really varied and interesting

I agree about cm'ing, it's been a huge learning curve for me, and I've gotten a lot from it.

I gave up earlier this year and have mulled over wether to return or not. I have now decided not too (unless have to finacially). I enjoyed the kids (although was challenging at times) but there are so many things that I don't miss ie hassle with parents, lack of one to one with my DC etc and I really don't want to have to learn the EYFS! Good luck - you're new job sound brilliant.

Another thing is getting my house back to noraml - gone are the bright colours and plastic flooring - horray to magnolia and cream! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stopped CMing in April this year and it was the best move I ever made. Good luck with your new job and here's to the future!
