Am I right to be a bit reluctant to pay?

My childminder phoned to say her son was unwell (very chesty cough) but she was still working. Basically I was given the choice if I wanted to risk my child catching it or keep her away.

I decided not to risk it and she has billed me for the day. Her costs are not cheep either.

Is it right that I feel a bit reluctant to pay her?

Cheers.

I think I agree with Illhavethisinsize12

I kind of agree too, but its bronchiolitis season, and I'll do anything to try and avoid her being hospitalised and on oxygen for five days. I'm not taking hjer to any drop-ins either.

Give it another week I won't care so much, but there's no way I could knowingly leave her. She was prem, and spent a week in hospital with the same thing last year.

Dont worry about sounding harsh. I'm not one to mollycoddle my kids believe me, but the strain on having her in hospital, and the future rsik of her developing asthma with each attack means that I'm totally happy with the decision I made.

Will probably pay her to be honest, but I'm not happy with the double standards - she's made it very clear in the past that she wil not have children if they are ill - even with colds.

Just one more thing though illhavethisinasize12: colds are contagious, and coughs and snotty noses are symptons, so if you are serious about not having contagious kids...?
