I can't spot it on the on-line version - it's prob on a different page - which section is it in?

Illhavethisinsize12 · 22/11/2008 22:04

Have a look here & see if it is still in the current version?

I think it says says something along the lines of all setting must have written policies on the following except childminders.

KatyMac · 22/11/2008 22:15

OK found it page 27

"ALL providers are expected to implement the following policies and procedures. All except childminders, are expected to have written copies of these policies and procedures:
 a safeguarding children policy and procedure
 a policy for ensuring equality of opportunities and for supporting children with learning difficulties and disabilities
 a policy for administering medicines, including effective management systems to support individual children with medical needs.
 a behaviour management policy
 a procedure for dealing with concerns and complaints from parents
 a procedure to be followed in the event of a parent failing to collect a child at the appointed time
 a procedure to be followed in the event of a child going missing
 a procedure for the emergency evacuation of the premises.""

So we have to have the policies - just not write them down......but to prove we have them without writing them down would be bloody tricky imo - so it is a non-sentence

Illhavethisinsize12 · 23/11/2008 09:08

well when/if they come i shall say i have no written ones just all in my head lol

I think it is not compulsory but is good practice to have written policies.

No ways that OFSTED would give more than Satisfactory without written policies, I would guess

popperdoodles · 23/11/2008 10:17

Well now I don't feel so bad about not having a written skipping rope policy or terrorism policy. Ought to do a missing child policy though don't think I have done that one yet
