I've done overnight care LOADS and it's £70 a night but so far, I've only done weekdays and mindee would be with me for the next day anyway from 8am. I'm having her on a Friday soon and think they will collect around 10ish. I'm not worried about this time or this family but it made me think as I'm just updating policies. Should I have a time they need collecting by in order to just pay the set fee? Otherwise someone may say 'oh I'll collect at 12ish' and it's the same money iyswim. I'm thinking I should maybe have some cut off time where I start charging weekend rates for the day care?

What do you think?

9am imo

9am as well. I really don't want it eating into my day.

I always do all three mindees for the Sgt's Mess Summer and Christmas Ball (we don't go) and as parents will have not got home till very early hours, I drop all the mindees off, by 9. (they all live in the same street)

My set fee is for 7pm to 8am. Other hours are added on. But wow £70 per night I charge £45 and thats £5 more than others in the area.

£70 is a lot less than a night nanny charges

My nights are generally 10 hours and if the parents want or need longer, they pay it by the hour.

I work as a night nanny in the families homes though so slightly different

Thanks, 9am sounds reasonable to me

maggi - I registered for overnight care because one particular family really wanted me to so could have overnight on a fairly regular basis. I said I had no idea what to charge and the parents set the rate at £70! I was but at the same time. After all, I didn't really want to be doing overnight care so this amount made it worth my while. There have been a few occasions where they've asked me during the day if I can have her that night and I've always said yes as I'd be silly to turn that money away. I really don't mind if no one else wants to pay that money as it's not something I want to do all the time iyswim. I tried to get them to pay me £60 instead but the mum INSISTED I was worth £70
