Sick pay?

My CM's husband has just called to say she is sick and can't have the children tomorrow. This isn't too much of a problem as my DH is out of work at the moment and can have them without any problem. He (CM's DH) said on the phone that she would return the money to us for tomorrow (we pay in advance). I just told him not to worry about that at the moment and we would sort it out when she was better. I can't find the contract we signed with her (it is in this house somewhere!) but have a funny feeling that she is entitled to sick pay and it would be a bit cheeky of me to take this money back. She is new to childminding and is doing everything by the book, it was a standard contract we signed (would it be a EYFS one?)
Can anyone help? - I don't want to take advantage by taking money back for a day when she is sick, but obviously with DH out of work every penny counts at the moment.

My CM contract says that I pay my CM if my child is sick but I don't pay if the CM is sick. My understanding is that that is 'normal'

I don't pay my childminder if she is ill, or her children are ill and she can't have my dd.

Thank you - I will take the money back without feeling guilty then!

Could you rather than take the money back, pay less next time? (next week/month?)

It would be very generous - 'tho I would understand if you couldn't

I find reducing the next payment 'hurts' less than finding money to hand back (iyswim)

It probably doesn't make a difference to your childminder - probably just one of my little quirks

We pay monthly with childcare vouchers which we get through work (althought DH won't be getting those anymore now!) so it's difficult to alter the amount.
I will ask CM what she would prefer.

Never mind, it was only an idea
