Our fantastic dutch au pair who has been with us two months, who the DCs love, has has to go home suddenly (she has suspected gladular fever, yes I do know what this is also called, no I didn't).

Anybody know of an AP looking for a positions who is happy to work for a single dad in a village on the fens (14 miles outside Cambridge), three DCs (5 - 11).

Must be a driver (and a car is made available for social use) and a non-smoker.

More details available if anybody knows of likely candidates.

Thanks

There is a girl looking for a job in Cambridgeshire on the au pair world site. She lives in a village off the outskirts of Cambridge - Kimbolton. She drives. For some reaon I can't call up her contact details - maybe my premium mebship has run out? I can post her name on hear for another mum to provide contact details but perhaps might be fairer for me to cat whoever looks it up for you rather then me posting the girls name on here. Let us know if you are interested and some kind mumsnetter might help.

I have premium membership to APW (and EAP and NAP) and have found her, I am just always a little concerned about APs that want to stay very clsoe to home - any body else had experience of stay at home APs?

does it actually say she wants to stay at home - surely for some places in Cambridgeshire she would have to live out? Incidenatlly what is EAP and NAP?

easy au pair and new au pair. I have used new au pair before and easy au pair has had some recommendations on here so I am trying it for the first time.

She is not strictly SAH but clearly wants to be very close to home. Just makes me nervous as APs are usually prepared to give it a bit of time to see if they like it but I can just see somebody that close to home giving up easily. E.g. my first au apir had a disastrous start, she turned up a day late and had a (minor) accident in the car on her second day, I could just see somebody who weas very clse to home giving up at that point, whereas she (and us) stuck it out and she was great.

I have sent her a message anyway, I was just wondering if others had experience of this situation.

DIOM, there was an AP advertising on gumtree/cambridge looking for a job with imediate start - she doesn't want to be too far away from Bishops Stortford (where her boyfriend lives) - but since you offer a car???
Her name is Lucie..you may have to go back a couple of pages to find her.

Thanks she is on APW as well - have sent her a message. Is 45 mins (+/- given A14/M11) too far for true love?

Bit of distance....keeps them keen! Just about far enough I suspect.

Sorry, did ask, but all her friends are happy where they are. Best of luck, I'm trying to find new AP for February when ours goes back to Germany to study.
