I haven't had one, but have heard they are concentrating on Risk Assessments & welfare requirements along with daily diaries/record keeping to show progress of children.

I had my first inspection after registering(april) just last week.
Its a good idea to do your self-evaluation-that way they get a good idea of what your strengths are, and what you need to work on.
I was asked about policies, risk assessments, first aid, child prot, behavoiur management, they are keen to know what you do to promote working with parents also.
I got picked up on that along with multi-cultural resources-which I knew I didnt have enough of, complaints policy and links with local nursery.
Dont worry too much about eyfs although they did ask me about 6 areas and how i promote them ,oh they asked me what sort of obs and planning(diaries, obs sheets, samples of work, photos)
Have all your paperwork ready in a file along with everything else so they can look through it.
Remember eyfs is new for them also.
Try not to worry too much
Good luck let us know how you get on

Hiya, had my inspection 2 weeks ago and agree with raspberrytart, big focus on working with parents how you work together to make sure they are not only in agreement with what you are doing with their children but also that you ask for their advice on what they want you to be doing/showing/teaching their children which I found strange cos it's normally the parents asking me for advice but still...they also were hot on the observation forms and again the links with children you have in nurseries if you have any mayb worth chatting with them first, my mindees nursery have a timetable of what they are teaching throughout the term and what books they are looking at etc what ofsted want you to be doing is helping the child with what they are focusing on at nursery but not teaching them the same thing if that makes sense.
Most of the other stuff hasn't really changed they want to know how you meet each of the standards as they did before.
Try not to worry about it most of the ofsted inspectors are really nice and just want to help you do it right.
Good luck x

def have a 'complaints file' even if you just have a file with that wrote on front and your policy inside, they like to see its in palce!?

know your forms of abuse..i ALWAYS get asked this one : Physical, emotional, neglect, sexual (or p.e.n.s!)

Ddiaries and obs i assume are big now, always done diaries am just started obs sheets incase diaries arent here!

Risk assesments

Plans: ideas of themes/events/celebrations etc

Multi cultural and ability toys/books (ie: various race/religion, dolls wilth one arms missing ..or books showing people in wheel chairs/elderly and so on)

Keep children entertained whilst their there, try to do something interesting for the children but low key/safe that if they need to speak to you, your not putting them at risk (i no aqua eads for littly etc)

I had mentioned how i kept ofering drinks on my last one, she said it was excellent to keep reminding the younger ones to keep hydratred..

not sure of what else...i worry about the standards etc and remembering them all, even though i know i do my job well, i dont dwell on the 'terminology' and such..so ill be on here panicking when its my turn too..good luck!
