Am half way through registering as a child minder but doing it back to front so have not done the 3 day course thing so don't really know what to expect.

Have gone through the EYFS(some of which I don't agree with) and have made notes in the document. Is that enough???

Have 3 young dc so not expecting any other probs re the rest of the inspection-house very kid friendly. Have done risk assessment on each room.

Any other advice on what to expect?

Thanks

Are you booked on an EYFS course? It will show Ofsted you're keen to get the knowledge under your belt.

If you have read through the EYFS statutory booklet and have written notes, you're showing an understanding in whats expected of you when you become a cm.

Have you got your (portfolio) policies and procedures organised? You'll need these in place (of some of them - if time is of the essence!) and have a list of what ones are left to do.

The more organised you are the better! They don't expect you to have everything spot on but they will make notes on what you need to improve on for your next inspection.

Have a look at this site www.bromleycma.org.uk/

It will help you along with anything you may have forgotten or didn't realise you needed.

Have you done/organised first aid and food hygiene?
Mine wanted to see a plan of menus, if youre providing food, this might be good to show them.
Have some thoughts about how you are goingto do observations, how you are going to link it it to the eyfs and how youre going to plan activitis, although I would say that if this is your pre reg visit, i would also use this as an opportunity for you to ask THEM about how youre to go about it and get them to give you some pointers (then let US know please )

Dont be scared, I can honeslty say that all of my inspections and inspectors have been pretty non scarey and actually quite helpful. good luck
