Filipino nanny visa renewal

A filipino nanny that i am hoping to employ has a british working visa until April 09. Does anyone know how easy it will be for her to renew, and what I will need to do.

Thanks

No ideas as yet. Full info regarding Youth Mobility Scheme Tier 5 has not been released.

What visa do they actually have now? Working Holidaymaker is the only one I can think which is used for nannies. If it is that one, then it is being replaced by Youth Mobility Scheme so they will require sufficient points to re-enter the country. Until how points are calculated is published, no one will be able to tell you if this person will be able to re-enter the country.

To be honest with you, I would suggest working on the basis that they won't be able to obtain sufficient points, thus will have to leave when their current visa expires and will not be returning.

Youth Mobility Scheme - not a lot of info at this time, but come November they should have the list of countries.

As far as i know she has a british working visa. It was organised for her by her previous employers who worked at the British Embassy in Moscow.

Who should i contact to find out this?

Thanks

You need to find out exactly what immigration paperwork she has. There are various types of visa, some of which require a work permit. She may be on diplomatic household paperwork, which I would have thought would mean that once she leaves the employment of that diplomat, she has to return to her the Philippines.

Contact immigration for advice. Try the immigration enquiry number: 0870 606 7766

Before calling I would suggest obtaining a copy of the visa/work permit paperwork - so the immigration enquiry advisor can work out if you can use that paperwork, or if the person has to return to the Philippines and reapply.

smith28 I advise you start your own thread and give a bit more detail about your situation (location, hours of your job etc)

From the 2 threads you've posted on I imagine you're looking to employ someone from the Philippines?
