Where can I get......

I really would love to get a proper school style folding table and little stackable plastic chairs (x6) to keep in my kitchen. At the mo I use the dining table but its big and fussy and a nightmare to keep clean around it, where as the kitchen has wood floors. It HAS to be foldable and suitable for around 3-8yrs I can't find one that costs less than £175 (inc vat and delivery)...anyone got any ideas???

Id also like a vinyl playmat like this one www.eduzone.co.uk/acatalog/info_151_422.html but that doesn't cost £140 inc vat and delivery!!!!

I know I am being ambitious...but I really want them!! Hoping you all know some slightly more budget suppliers than I do!!!!

Thanks

re the mat, it isn't quite the same, but in Tesco I got a set of alphabet foam mats that join together for £10. when they're all joined up it covers quite a large area.

erm, table wise I will have a think

Someone has similar mats on ebay and that is probably what I will end up with...I ust know my little monkeys will just spend all day pulling them apart....

Thanks x

Think these may be a bit small, but have a look.

There are lots of folding tables there

nbee84 · 03/07/2008 20:53

I think this might seat 6

KatyMac · 03/07/2008 20:53

Search on 'folding table'

nbee84 · 03/07/2008 20:54

This one is a bit bigger

littlestarschildminding · 03/07/2008 20:56

Thanks, will go look at them all.

Morleys was where I first saw them and although they look fairly reasonable once you add vat and then delivery for a small table and 6 chairs its £165.....gulp.

Most of the others I can find are too small.. someone has a perfect round one on ebay for £30 but it doesn't fold grrrrr and I don't have anywhere to put it when its not being used.

Ok this might be a bit too cheap but what I did for when my nephew visits is get a folding table from ikea like this one:

www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50101638

then got my boyfriend to hack off some bits of the legs to make the table shorter. Next I got some of these rubber feet things of ebay:

cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rubber-feet-to-reduce-washing-machine-vibration-pk4_W0QQitemZ220253782484QQihZ012QQca tegoryZ20714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and glued them to the table legs just to make doubley sure that it was stable.

Then I got some of these ikea chairs that stack:

www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00101056

You can get stackable stools too that are cheaper; they look like bins. They are hollow so also good for storing things in.

For a play Mat I just got some laminated cotton from my local fabric store in child friendly colours and cut a bit off to also cover the table.

It looks quite good I think but maybe you want something a bit more "professional looking" or something?!
