How does my nanny go about registering for childcare vouchers?

I think she would have to be OFSTED approved, is that right? How does she do that? She's great, I love her - would that be enough for OFSTED?

In England, yes would need to register with Ofsted. Will need to meet Ofsted's criteria - so some kind of training, 12-hour First Aid course, Insurance.
Guides from Ofsted

Then once registration certificate comes through, they would need to contact the voucher company and complete whatever paperwork they required... typically an application form along with bank details.

Then it depends on the voucher provider. Some systems require that you authorise each payment, where as others automatically go through. E-Vouchers are easier. Paper based vouchers have to be redeemed by the childcare provider, each time... so bit of a pain. If your employer gives the option - opt for electronic vouchers.

I think perhaps the costs involved might be a bit prohibitive. As she's not currently doing any of this (vouchers currently go to dd's nursery) it would mean a big extra cost that I don't think I could ask her to incur and I think if we paid it we'd end up losing any benefit from the vouchers...but thank you very much for the info. I'll bear it in mind and discuss it with her when I get the chance.
