Having just read who minds (summer 2008), I have noticed that all childminders should be registered with their local environmental health agency if they provide food to their mindees. Please can anyone advise of what happens during this process? Do they send someone out to visit etc etc
Many Thanks

Its different all over the country. Some councils just send a form for you to return. Some will visit by appointment or unannounced visit.

Childminders are considered low-risk, if you get asked to do anything thats expensive or impractical contact NCMA. They were trying to work with FSA & EH Depts to get some sort of national system set up. one form for all type thing.

My understanding was that we all had to register whether we provide meals or not (you still need to store & prepare snacks, drinks & parent provided meals, baby milks etc properly).

But its taken a long time for councils to decide how to deal with us - lots of people still aren't registered.

Thanks ayla99,

I can find a form online, but it doesn't seem relevant to us at all!! I'll ring them on monday and take it from there. Cheers
