Can anyone recommend a babysitting/night nanny service in Surrey? (Epsom)

Need a babysitter for my four month old DD (yes, yes, shoot me now) for a couple of dates in July. Can anyone recommend anyone they've used?

Sitters are great. I work for them

Have used them a fair bit over he last couple of years

nick is in surrey, though not sure if near epsom

and why would we shoot you? NOTHING wrong with you wanting to go out and have a social life

MISSINGMYHEELS - OMG thats awful - sorry that people and prob mums on here made you feel like that

you are only human, why shouldnt you go out by self/with hubby/friends etc and have a night away relaxing,esp knowing that your dd is safe and being well looked after!!

Mummies NEED me time away from their precious children , it makes them all the better parents imo

i have proxy parent for 2 children when baby was 3mths and older one just 2yrs.doing it again this weekend baby is 5 and half months now.

why shouldnt you have a night out or weekend away with out your children. If you can afford appopriate childcare then i dont see it as an issue

not everyone has family to help out

I use sitters and have a son with profound SN
they have been excellent at sorting out and meeting his/my needs.
Had three or four babysitters - all well qualified and responsible/professional
Actually have the confidence to have a social life again ( only been 12 years )

and no I don't work for them

Alas I don't cover Epsom area these days. Used to a few years back, when fuel prices were cheaper!

With a 4 month old, I would suggest you find a babysitter who your DD can get to know. Agencies are able to supply various people, and while they may try to secure you the same person everytime, it won't be guaranteed.

You could try finding a nanny/childcare worker in your area, using the many internet listing sites. FindASitter and NannyJob spring to mind.

pagwatch - I'm intrigued to find out more about how sitters is able to provide care for your son with SN, as the sitters website says they don't care for children with special needs - see Questions

I work for sitters and I found that they reliable for both parents & minders( & children of course)I frequently babysit in Epsom for them.

Be careful when choosing a nanny service. We chose night-nanny.com in surrey and experienced many problems from the nanny (Kate Taggart) cancelling at the last moment - via text at 6pm when she was meant to turn up at 8.30pm on the same day. This happened to us at least twice. Also this agency did not seem very bothered considering the fees you pay them, i.e. £20 per night plus another £80 to the night nanny. Kate also has her own nanny service called preciousnannyagency.co.uk. Then we experienced Kate getting mixed up with her diary and not turning up because she believed we had booked her on another night. Extremely disappointing when you get ready to have a night off.

I live in Woking and have just started using Sitters - very impressed.

So how did it go, missingmyheels? Any feedback on the service? I would love to be able to have a night away with my DH (we haven't had a single night without the children since DD1 was born in 2005!) - partly because our marriage is creaking a bit since DD2 came along in November...

As it happens, I didn't need to use any of the suggestions in the end as my Mum saved the day. Good luck finding someone though, I remember finding it quite stressful. One of the nursery nurses at my DD's nursery does babysitting (not sure about overnighters) on the side - do you have your DD1 in any sort of childcare where they might do something similar?

Hi I know someone in Epsom who may be able to help you, they are just going through the registration process at the moment as a childminder and I would not hesitate to leave my child with them, (You will feel the same if you met her) I will have to confirm with her if she was interested and if you want to know more just give me a shout back and ill point you in right direction.
(Probably a tad cheaper than using sitters as well)
