Not sure, but probably around £250-£300 per week. (including all taxes -- yours and hers)

agree £250 ish per week. Thus around £13,000 per year.

Athene - are you including out-of-pocket expenses that the nanny incurs while caring for children in that amount? And extra food etc.

I think that the "total childcare budget" will usually be a bit bigger than the "nanny cost".

Anna, I rounded up a bit for that. But, didn't really use a specific figure/equation. But, live out and five hours a day isn't going to have a huge impat on expenses (food, travel, etc.). Also, there is of course a range in terms of experience, and so on.

I'm not much of an expert on live-out rates anyway. Just an educated guess really.

Right - just thought I'd mention that issue, after the recent thread about unexpected out-of-pocket nanny costs.

a cost of a nanny depends on a few things

on the area (more in london/kent) then where you are

on age of nanny, how much experince she has and if qualified

on if you employ a nanny who is a mum as well ( you can often employ a nanny mum fot less) - might be more nannies about who fall in this catrogrey(sp) as you dont want full days

25hrs a week at say £8ph I would have thought would be the right amount, as your hours may mean a nanny would find it hard to fit in another job round them

It would be £6-£10 an hr net depending on nanny's experience and quals.
