Does anyone know anything about childcare vouchers from the employers point of view?

I wasn't sure which topic to put this in but here seemed appropriate

I approached my employer to see if I could receive part of my pay childcare vouchers. They have said they will consider it, presumably if it's easy to do and doesn't cost them too much but they asked if i could find out more about it from their point of view

Ok, so not really my job, but thought i'd see if mn could assist Any help would be most appreciated as money is tight(isn't it always) so the extra bit of tax free cash would come in handy.

It will actually save your company money as well. You save tax and national insurance on up to £243 and they save NI contributions too. They pay a percentage of the voucher total as admin charge about 5-7% depending on scheme, but their savings offset this and still save them a little. Voucher companies vary in the amount they charge them.

Better voucher companies in my experience are Accor, and Sodexhopass. We are using early years vouchers ltd as we are a small company (day nursery so we will be issuing and redeeming same voucher) and it suits us better.

thanks. i just did a google search and found a couple of schemes, acor and busybees. I have linked my boss to them as tbh it's up to them to read and retain that info

Thing is I only want £15-20 per weeks deduct from my pay, we set up the rest to come from dh's pay. so i'm not sure my boss'll go for it.

It will save me about £20 a month which isn't a lot to them, but it is to me. That's part of my holiday paid for!

Fingers crossed they will set it up

Word of warning busybees is an admin nightmare and if they are only doing a small amount the stress might not be worth the gain!

ok, will steer my boss in another direction if they decide they will do it. Looking at figures they'd only be saving a couple of pounds so not sure they'll go for it although having changed our payday at the beginning of the year and costing my loads in mortgage fees as I had to change the date of my payment they owe me IMO

I think it is worth it. My employer (council) used Sodexho Childcare pass. My CM says it is the easiest for her to use. Dp's was Busybees which was crap

thanks fizzbuzz. my dh is getting them through his work, but the total cost of the childcare is more than £55 so we want to get them through my employer too if we can.

His employer use sodexhopass so i know the nursery use them. Will point my boss in that direction!

FairCare I've found to be very good, from a nanny point of view. My employer didn't report any issues either.
If you work for a small company, may be worth going with one of the smaller voucher admin companies, than the big ones.
