Presents for childminder

After 8 years of my lovely childminder looking after DD, first as a baby, then a nursery aged child and now wrap around care, DD wants to walk to and from school alone starting next year.

I’ve unofficially given notice and this aligns with her plans to stop the wrap around care - all good.

But what present could I get her at the end of the year? I’ve always done fairly generic flowers, candles, chocolates etc. at Christmas and end of the year.

As a childminder, what would you appreciate?

Do you know what she likes?

Good gifts for me in the past have been food hampers, afternoon tea vouchers, restaurant meals etc.

I like candles or posh diffusers, dont drink alcohol much and have enough photos of your children so dont want any more thanks 😂

I'd do a voucher for local restaurant or similar.

When I was a childminder some gifts I loved -

a next gift voucher
John Lewis photo frame
flowers
wine
luxury chocs
local restaurant voucher

Avoid best childminder etc type gifts and no pictures of your child

My favourite gift was a beautiful scented rose for the garden. Every time it blooms I think of the child.

I tend to do vouchers + a homemade card- they can get something they actually like, plus the card for the sentimental bit

I think if you get vouchers it needs to fully cover the cost of something, otherwise it ends up costing them money to use!
Massage or beauty treatment voucher if she's into that sort of thing?

I think a generic restaurant voucher would be nice. It’s expensive to eat out these days and a voucher would be seen as a treat.

When I was a childminder my most favourite gifts were restaurant vouchers.
I agree that it is so expensive to eat out these days so it would be a real treat.
I also always loved a card with some nice words in it to put in my portfolio for prospective parents/ofsted to read 🙂

Thanks all. Some food suggestions here! A giant framed picture of my child was NOT on my list!!
