I’m a nanny, I work after school hours during term time and full days during holidays and have the pay split so I get a monthly salary.
I started in September 2025.
I’m now pregnant and will going on mat leave in may, will my pay be reduced in the run up to mat leave because I won’t be working the full year?
I.E won’t be there working 5 days 8-6 during the 6 weeks holiday mainly.

hope that makes sense to someone

If you qualify for SMP your 90% pay for first six weeks will be based on the actual average weekly pay you receive in the qualifying weeks(usually weeks 18-26). You need to have been continuously employed for at least 26 weeks by the 14th week before your due date and earn over £125 pw. To qualify otherwise you may get Maternity Allowance which is a flat rate.

I think this is a question for your employer.
