What do you do if you are worried about a mindee's development?

Talk to the parent about it or assume it is HV's / Doctor's responsibility and keep your nose out?

I think you should mention it - I would say to the parent something along the lines of....

"i don't think this is anything to worry about but thought it best to mention that many kid's X's age are walking/talking/reading/whatever by now, you may just want to get it checked out. It's probably nothing all kids are different and gosh isn't X forward at

It's your duty as a cm to note a mindee's development a record any concerns. I have had this problem, but you should tell the parents of your concerns.

As fym says, just make it light hearted and mention something positive as well. Mention to them that you wouldn't be doing your job if you didn't notice these things and make them aware of your concerns, but that there is probably nothing to worry about!

Good Luck!

within my local chlid care plus, they have a division whom deal with this kind of thing, i only found out about it on my EYFS induction..ring your local CCP or surestart and ask if they have an area for such a thing..if not i can get the number for mine for you, im sure they'd help

before i knew about this, i also had a mindee which i had concerns over, i DID mention them to her mum SEVERAL times only to be faced with a brick wall, the day the very first day they started nursery the teacher (as i was collecting) asked me if id noticed xy and z..i was so relieved when she confirmed it...but mum STILL doesnt listen
