My DTs start reception in sept and I have been lucky enough to negotiate a 0.8 contract over 5 days, but will still need soemone to pick them up for me once or twice a week. Our former nanny who we are still in touch with (she left to have a baby) would be ideal and is happy to do it, so that's great, but how much to pay? It will be a case of picking them up, bringing them home, giving them a snack then one of us is usually in by 4.30 so a couple of hours max for her to do and she can of course bring her son who will be about 20 months by sept

How much was she on before? Can you not work it out that way and perhaps add a little if it was a while ago.

An hourly rate for a CM and a nanny/mother's help is going to be totally different though.

Flat rate of £20 sounds fair to me.

Yes I think £20 is probably about the minimum you can pay depending where you are.

thanks for your thoughts everyone, she was on a take home pay of about £12000 before, as a f-t live out nanny, we are in the north east so not as pricey as other places generally. £20 for a couple of hours is a fair bit more than a cm would charge also more than her rate was before, £15 flat rate would mean we might use her more, but I want to make it worth her while doing it...I'll check out local rates for similar roles thanks again for input
