Live-in Nannying

Has anyone done live in nannying for a week before? A family I do regular babysitting for has asked if I can look after their 2 sons (age 9 & 13) from a Saturday until the following which then rolls into a half term. I have no idea what to charge and neither do they. Having looked online it seems the going rate is anywhere from £500-£700 for a week. Does this seem too much? As don’t want to overcharge to then lose a good relationship with the family or lose out by undercharging. Any help/advice would be great

Im a nanny. It's not too much. Is it proxy parenting for 7 days? I get over 700 for 4 days.
If you feel the family may struggle financially then you could do it for 500 if you're comfortable with that.

Proxy parenting/24 hour care typically starts at £250 per 24 hours.

Hey WWY, thanks for your reply. Yes it will be proxy parenting for 7 days including looking after their cats as well. I’ll have a chat with the family and hopefully we can agree on a figure thanks

Minimum wage is £11.44, so you need to be paid at least £275 per 24 hours, and they can deduct £10 a day for accommodation - so £265.
Or if you do half rate for being on call for the 6 hours the kids are at school, £230 per 24 hours.
I'd expect around £1000 for 7 days.
£500-£700 a week is more for live-in nannies just working standard 10-12 hour days while parents are at work.

Hi littleluncheon, thanks so much for this info I’ll have a discussion with the family and see what we can agree on 😌
