Hello,

our after school nanny would like us to pay her tax (fair enough!) what’s the best way to go about it?
would appreciate any tools or companies you had personal experience with along with costs if you know them

TIA 🙂

Nannypaye
Payefornannies
I have had employers use both of those.

Remember though to make sure you have gross pay in her contract, that way, if she gets more jobs, you won't be liable for tax you hadn't previously accounted for.

Did you think there was a choice in whether you deduct your employee's tax 😂
What do you mean by she "would like" you to???

FanofLeaves · 04/10/2024 19:59

You have an obligation to, never mind what’s ‘fair enough’! She will also qualify for pension payments, holidays etc, because she is in paid employment and you are her employer.

But it still surprises me after 15 years in the industry that this isn’t always common knowledge (and yes not helped by some individuals who are prepared to work ‘under the table’)

Anyway, Nannytax is pretty good for this. It’s a yearly fee and then they will do the rest.

I would recommend payefornannies

i used nannytax and they made a very basic mistake which could have been a real pain for me to resolve with HMRC

Around £250 if they do all the reporting for you and pension
