What is the going rate for a Nanny staying overnight?

Hi I have great plans for finally having a night off with my dh and our Nanny has agreed to stay overnight to look after dd10 and ds14months, but I don't know how much to pay her and she won't say how much she wants!!

Her normal rate is GBP 8 gross per hour, any suggestions? Also what is the usual rate for nanny's babysitting??

Thanks

Rates depend where you are in the country. If you're in an area where normal nannying rate is £8/hr gross, then [sticks finger in air] I would guess babysitting (children asleep, nanny awake) might be around £6/hr.

The norm for overnight is (i) hourly babysitting rate until a sensible time when nanny herself might go to bed (10pm?), then (ii) an "overnight fee" (between £20 & £40, depending on the ages of the children - ie low fee for older children who don't wake, higher for younger ones who might disturb nanny in night - so I'd think it would be the higher end, since you have a 14mo). And then (iii) ordinary (non-babysitting) hourly rate kicking in from say 8 am till whenever you come back.

Great thanks for that, always assuming we do come back of course...

I charge £75 for an overnight (max 12 hours) when all children are over 1yr.

I know lots of nannies here (west London) who charge £10-£12 per hour overnight though so I guess Im pretty cheap.
