i am looking for a temp nanny/mothers help for the summer holidays, it will involve basically taking kids to activites, picking up from day camp or nursery, occasionally having 2 girls all day on their own, but lots of days i will be home aswell, i have advertised for someone with experience over qualifications. basically looking for a capable confident uni student who wants abit of cash in hand for 8 weeks. we have offered a car and live in if needed, so how much do i pay ???

If you employ a uni student then they will most likely be able to be paid without tax deductions (leaving you only with NI to pay). You have to fill in a form that says how much they have earnt in total, and as long as it is within their tax allowance you pay them their gross salary.

We employed a student last summer - I asked her how much she wanted to be paid then I rounded it up a bit...I recommend that approach

Whereabouts are you/what sites have you advertised on?

I might be interested - qualified, 1st Aid, CRB etc, used to dealing with girls as I run Rainbow and Brownie units. Would be asking £300/week if live out and am registered self-employed.
