Live-in Nanny or Au Pair, classed as renting out a room? (Legal issues regarding rented property)

I'm considering bringing in a nanny or Au Pair, but I rent my home and the tenancy agreement states that I must not rent any rooms out. So, would this include a nanny or au pair do you think? (Obviously I would do better to ask my landlord on Monday, but I'm just testing the water).

Is their room door lockable?
If not, then I don't think it is a sub-let.
Yes, I agree that you should ask your landlord.

ask your landlord but i think it should be ok

you are not renting the room out,you will not be getting any payment for it,you will be paying out a wage to nanny/au pair

I think it is classed as a service occupancy. The nanny has no legal or equitable interest in the property, they are occupying it under the terms of their employment contract. Upon termination of their employment contract, they lose the accommodation.

Brilliant! I'm glad I asked, thank you for the good info!
