I am in the process of agreeing a contract with a parent. There is a time in the day when I have to drop a child at school and her children attend a club. The only way round this that we can see (apart from them stopping the club, which she doesnt want) is for me to drop the children at her friends house, and meet them at the venue 45 mins later. Is this ok to do? And do I charge while they are with the friend? I'm worried I still have responsibility for them but wont actually be there.

I think you need to have something written down, to cover yourself. Not sure what exactly, with luck others can advise.
You need it such that when the children are in the care of the friend and club, the children are not your responsibility.

As nannynick said, you would have to have something written down to cover yourself, written and signed by the parent re: the arangement. If it is agreed by the parent, then I would not charge for these 45 minutes. If anything were to happen and you are still charging, ultimately it would be your responsibility and you wouldn't be covered by insurance.

I think what you need to do is put down 2 separate contracted hours. i.e. 8:30 to 9am then 9:45am to X, iyswim.
