Childminders- Is £200 for a website too much?

I am struggling to fill my childminding spaces and I'm thinking of doing childminding websites for the local childminders.
I have already done a couple of childminding sites for friends but they only paid for the hosting costs.

What is a reasonable price to charge? It would include hosting, domain name and any updates for a year.

Many thanks

I used to do childminder sites and charge £180 for a comprehensive site (i.e. 12+ pages). I had no problem getting work and never advertised - believe it or not it was people who saw my website on ebay who emailed to ask questions, one begged me to build her one and it went from there.

Good luck

I am not sure it is competitive... I did a quick Google for childminder websites and the first result I got was for a website design and host package costing £80 (year 2 and subsequent years: £50 per year).

So as you are offering design and hosting, you may want to think about pricing. The top entry on the Google Search I did, seems to me to be pricing year 2 hosting at an inflated cost above actual, and in doing so is able to decrease the initial year 1 cost. Do you agree?

I must say, yes, there are a lot of cheaper options available these days so you may have trouble with competition. I'm talking 3 years ago I was doing this.

Good luck whatever you decide to do

My current site was designed by a mumsnetter - graphic design. Coding and hosting I do myself. Cost was in the region that you are considering charging.
So yes some people may pay that sort of figure, but I'm not how many would. Perhaps you could offer a range, so that those with lower budgets could get something more basic, than someone paying a higher figure.
