Can you split Early years funding between two settings?

Hi MNs

After some guidance as DDs nursery isnt great at admin or emails so am getting mixed guidance.

We get the 3yo funding from Sept 24. DD goes to a private nursery 2 days a week and another forest nursery for another 2 days. All day at each.

Private nursery is more expensive and operates term time only so will use 14 hrs (max allowed 7hrs per day) for the 32 weeks on offer. Its attached to a private school hence the 32 weeks rather than 38weeks.

Id ideally then like to use any remaining hours (technically 1 hr per week for 32 weeks and 6weeks at 15hrs to get to the full funding available for 38 weeks) at the other forest nursery but this operates all year (not term time only).

How do I go about doing this if one setting is term only and one full year? I understand the max allowed to be claimed per week is 15hrs across all settings so I cant just claim more hours at the forest one in the school holidays. The form looks like it has to be ‘set’ the same each week in terms of hours being claimed.

Im sure im overthinking it! Any help appreciated.

You could do this in theory . But the forest school may refuse . I am a childminder and I don’t share funding . Funding is a pain - it pays less than the normal rate for 3 year olds so settings are loosing money . It a lot of paperwork , and literally daily emails from LAs , for an hour a week it would be a no from me . Also the nursery’s often claim all the hours and the child minder or forest school would have to pay it back.
btw the maximum hours a day are 10 hours - if your nursery is open 10 hours it could be claiming 10 hours a day .

You can buy both settings in my borough would have to claim either term time only or stretched.

Why are you sending daily emails? Funding is generally entertaining child's details put in terms estimate (or in my borough actuals only) then an actual start of term ,one global declaration form for all children job done. It takes an hour or two a term for 5 children.
Settings can make their own decision on how many hours to offer a day up to 10 hours so it may be the only model that allows them to make uP the loss in funding rates. .

Im not sending any emails , im
receiving daily emails . I also have received two questionnaires last week.

The questionnaire is about finding out how many intend to offer funding to other ages and how many spaces. They've told people that parents can now do forms. Timelines etc but that's only because of changes it's not the normal amount of reading to do.

Speak to your local authority funding team. They will be able to liaise with the two settings to make sure the correct number of hours is allocated appropriately.
