Am I doing the right thing?

I've been a SAHM for over 3 years now and me and my LB are stuck in a bit of a rut. I didn't get him down for a nursery for April in time and he has a space for September at a school nursery but I'm really struggling with my mental health and dying to get back to something for me. Also could do with the money and perhaps my LB being exposed to more children/activities (he's nonverbal, not diagnosed with anything yet).

I have been recommended a childminder who I visited and she seems lovely but her requirements are 3 full days as a minimum.

My question is, do I send him there for even a few months, which feels sort of selfish but could help with his development, or not put him through the whole settling in etc if he's going to go to school nursery from sept anyway?

I would put him in if he hadn’t been in a childcare setting before. It will be a big jump going from nothing to a school nursery where’s there’s typically large classes so a childminder will probably be a good step towards that and excellent for development.

I don't think there's any downside to doing that.

Thank you so much! I'm thinking of definitely trying it out and if he hates it even after a month or so then seeing if I can take him out?

Thank you! This is true, I don't have anything to lose

So he's going to have to settle at a childminders, then at another new setting a few weeks later.....

So it would be a May start with childminder then September start so a few months in between as oppose to a few weeks but I have heard that some children can take a few months to settle into just one setting so it is a concern of mine as well.
