hello all.
So have a two year old.
applied for funding.
going to nursery for two days a week.
i thought the 15 hours would cover most of the cost, but not all (as food, nappies etc not covered).

however the nursery cost didnt even drop by half of our monthly fee.

Does that sound about right? nursery says yes.
Just wondering if thats the norm or i should be looking elsewhere.

Normal it seems now. The funded hours aren't enough so nurseries are having to add charges else many would close. In some cases peoples cost has actually gone up

It's also only term time so the funding will be spread if they attend every week.

If you're using funding all year you get around 11 hours a week not 15 so two days cut in half ish then as the government don't pay enough funding to keep nursery going they have to bill extra for food consumables etc so it sounds typical.

My 2yo goes for 20h a week (4 half days). We used to pay about 700 per month and it's now going to drop to little under 400. So not exacly cut in half but close. How many hours does your one go for?

Oh that’s interesting to know and learn,
our little one goes two days a week. Pay normally around 950. It’s now around 560

Also ask about the funded sessions they may be 6 hours a day or whatever works for the seeing you can't have more than 10 a day
