Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I am looking for some guidance as to what to charge for overnight nannying.
The family who have asked me to nanny for them want someone to look after one child from 8am on a Saturday morning till 10am on a Sunday morning.
I am a qualified midwife who has childcare qualifications and has over fifteen years experience with caring for new-borns and children up to the age of 12.
My hourly rate is £17 per hour which the family have agreed to pay. We have not discussed a different rate overnight. I know I need to discuss it with them before I confirm. I have not been booked for this duration of time before so I'm just looking for some guidance as to what people think would be a fair price to charge.
Would it be fair to suggest my hourly rate until midnight and then half from midnight till 6am? Or charge half pay from once the child is asleep?
I have done maternity nursing/nannying overnight for a new born and charged £17 ph as I have been up with the child most of the night. This child is 1.5 years and I have been told sleeps through the night.
Thanks again,
Poppy
