Start up Crèche

Hiya!

I am thinking of starting a Crèche in my local town. We don’t have one here. Really I want to know how many mums wish their town had one and would they use it?

I longed for somewhere to take mine just to get through food shopping, appointments etc.

How much would parents pay per hour? The opportunity of a premises 10mins outside of the town has come up, is it worth going for? Or would being in the centre of the town be better?

I am a fully qualified in childcare. I have nannied and worked in nurseries for 5/6 years. I have two young children of my own.

really appreciate opinions 😊

I wouldn't want to use this if I'm honest. Nursery is different. I'd want my child to experience the shops etc with me.

I think you'd need to be in the centre of town

Either my children are big enough to easily go to the shops or they’re too young for people who are random and unknown to them to be looking after them.

I would like them to as well. My eldest loved it. My youngest hates the pushchair and like to walk and run around which is tricky with hair appointments, doctors appointments and food shopping!

Mine are older now but I would have used a crèche when they were younger.

In terms of pricing maybe look at what soft plays etc are charging and be in that ball park. Excuse the pun.

And probably in town.

I would have been more likely to use one if it was at someone’s house, similar to a childminder. I really could have done with one when I had things like a doctors appt or dentist. I didn’t want regular childcare just one off. It wasn’t until my kids were older that I discovered the Bubble app. I think as long as you make it a personable service, not just an Ikea type drop and run, you will get repeat customers. You will have to concentrate on building up relationships with families so they feel comfortable leaving their kids with you.
