One set of parents would like to pay me via Busy Bees vouchers which I'm willing to accept (have filled forms in on line this afternoon) but have just had a thought about whether they pay in advance or in arrears, as I bill in advance I can't afford to "lose" a month if the vouchers pr in arrears. Thanks HP

I've been registered with them nearly 3 years but never been paid that way yet so can't answer. Thought a bump might help though

I used to use busy bee vouchers when dd was at nursery and I always paid in advance there.

HTH!

In signing your contract, parents have accepted responsibility for paying you on or before the agreed date stated in your contract, regardless of what method they choose to pay you. So they will have to continue their current method of payment until they have saved up enough vouchers to pay you before your payment date.

I explain to parents that it is they and not the voucher provider who is responsible for timely payments and that it is the parents who will receive an invoice for my late payment charges if payment is late. Actually Busy Bees did pay up when they admitted to it being their error that caused my late payment. But we have no way of knowing if a late payment is due to the parent not authorising the payment on time or a fault with the voucher provider. So my policy is to charge the parent and leave them to seek reimbursement from the voucher provider if appropriate.

I also tell parents that I reserve the right to decline any voucher scheme that fails to work to my satisfaction.

thanks for the replies, will look at this properly later when I've calmed down.

I agree with all the others. We pay by vouchers and I see it as our responsibility to make sure that the CM gets paid on the day specified in her contract. I would just mention to the parents that they wll need to work this out. You definitely should not lose a month.
