Nursery settling

Hi just looking for some advise.
My little boy is 2 and I wanted him to go nursery for 15 hours to play with other children so I could work whilst he was there, however I'm finding it very difficult for myself and him as he's screaming none stop, he crys his heart out all morning before we even leave the house.
I've tried the positive talks about nursery how fun it will be, I've tried just going not mentioning it but then he gets very unsettled in the car sobbing asking where we are going.

I don't know what to do if it's best to not take him untill hes 3 and try again or try stick at it.
This is his 4th week now and I've never felt guilt like it.
Even on the weekend he's saying no nursery mummy.

What sort of settling in sessions have you been offered? for example, staying with him for the first time, for 30mins. Then for an hour. then leaving him for maybe 30mins or an hour.

Do the staff tell you he's been upset the entire time? Have you asked to be told if he is inconsolable for long periods without settling at all? I'm sure most nurseries would be flexible and call you if you asked them to.

Some children can be really upset at drop-off, but are able to be distracted and calm down once the parent has left. Do you know for certain that he doesn't calm down at all?

If a genuine sort of settling in period has been tried, and appears to have failed, then yes, you might be best to abandon it for now, and try again in a few months time.
