Tax Free Childcare - One parent working

My partner recently left his job after being on sick leave for a year. I have since had to declare that he is unemployed in my TFC account. As a result, it states that I am no longer eligible for government funding. We are not married, but living together.

The government funding is essential for us to be able to afford our nursery fees each month. Any advice on what I can do? Has anyone else been in this situation? I've been in debt since declaring and its really stressful.

The presumption will be that the non working parent will be caring for the children

Are you getting any benefits? He may be able to apply for New Style ESA.

It isn't a lot of money but every little may help.
Depending on your circumstances, as a family you may be eligible for Universal Credit.

TFC account will be in pay only mode, so what is in it can still be used to pay towards childcare but you cannot add more to it.

@PuttingDownRoots He wont be unfortunately - health issues but not 'serious' enough to be deemed as a disabilty
