So apparently in April 24 2 year olds get 15hrs free (under 100k income) and from sept 24 its 30 hours.

My ds is 2 in June.

So will that mean he cant get free hours until sept 24, which will then be 30 hours?

If it sticks to the rules of the current scheme, he’d be eligible from the term after he turns 2.

But the scheme is just an outline right now; there’s no details or information on how it’ll be be funded and no update until the autumn budget. Nurseries will then need to work out how many funded places they can afford to accept; and what extras they will need to charge for; so until you’ve got all that info, you can’t really plan anything. It’s quite likely you’ll still have to pay a couple of hundred a month in fees to keep the nursery operating

30 hours isn't until September 2025.
