French nanny needed in Fulham

Hi I need some advice for a nanny, I am looking for a French speaking nanny for my 9 month old. I want to phase her in so start off by once a week then build up to 5 times a week by January when I go back to work full time. The agencies that I am finding have extortionate rates - does anyone have any other ideas on where I could look or does anyone have a nanny to recommend ?

Thank you in advance!

You could try posting on nappyvalley.net or nannyjob, but it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to get someone good and french speaking who is happy to only work part-time for a couple of months.

You would need to pay the full time rate from the get go , even if the nanny is starting with a day or two a week.
Basically a nanny looking for a full time position isn't going to go part time for a few months . Why would they ?
There are so many many opportunities for nannies out there , no one would settle for what you're offering.
I imagine a French speaking nanny would be even more in demand .
Are the agencies really extortionate?
Are you sure they weren't just quoting the going rate ?
I'd suck it up to be honest , in a relationship that will hopefully last years a few months at full pay for PT work won't seem like such a sacrifice.

I think your expectations are a bit unrealistic.. better to employ full time a week or so before you go back to work as trial where she will work as a more as a mothers help, so you can build rapport/trust. Phasing is over such a long time is not practical from a job perspective on the nanny end and it isn’t really necessary if you employ someone competent :)

No nanny will be happy to be phased in over a long period- what work could they do the rest of the week?

Phasing her in is your choice – you’ll need to pay full time from the get go or you don’t have a hope of finding anyone.
